ATDC finishes off regional bus tours in the North-West

The ATDC wrapped up its regional bus tours on the North-West Coast on Tuesday, May 30.

Sector Capacity Building Officer Olivia Montgomery, Policy and Research Officer Dr Jackie Hallam and Member Relations Officer Tamara McDonald were in attendance, along with about 20 guests from areas including housing and mental health.

We visited ATDC members including Advocacy Tasmania at Devonport, and the Youth, Family and Community Connections (YFCC) Junction Hub at Devonport, where we also heard from headspace and Cornerstone Youth Services.

We also attended Relationships Australia, Alcohol and Drug Services and the Salvation Army residential program at Ulverstone, the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre and Anglicare at Burnie and Serenity House at Suphur Creek.

Highlights included learning about an initiative at the Salvation Army’s residential rehab at Ulverstone, where residents are helping to revamp an old Kombi van.

You can find out more about the event on this media release, and read this Advocate article about the bus tour.

An album of photographs from the day can be found on the ATDC Facebook page.
