ATDC small grants for International Overdose Awareness Day events

On 31 August people from around the world take part in International Overdose Awareness Day. This year the ATDC invites Members to apply for funding to hold an event consistent with our objective of maximising consumer engagement in service planning and delivery.

Your event can be as big and elaborate or as small and intimate as you would like – just do it your way. By bringing your community or even just a few of your staff and supporters together, you can become part of the change!

Your support is invaluable to help create awareness about overdose prevention and provide support to families and friends who have lost loved ones to overdose. People lost due to overdose are not just statistics – they are family and friends. The tragedy of overdose is far too frequent but is ultimately preventable. Overdose prevention, education and recognition play a crucial role in saving lives.

There will be four grants of up to $500 available. All we ask is that your event sends a message that every person’s life is valuable and that stigmatising people who use drugs needs to stop.

Terms for the application are:

  • You must be an ATDC member
  • Your event must help create awareness about overdose prevention
  • You must acknowledge ATDC in your promotional material
  • Your event needs to be held either on or as close as possible to the 31st August 2018

Successful applicants will be notified by 27th July.
