About the Trainer

Maria Duggan’s background includes Sessional Teaching in the Health Sciences at TAFE Tasmania and over the last two years working in Health Promotion focusing on men’s health.

.
Maria holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, and has recently completed her Masters in Public Health focusing on contemporary public health practice, encompassing models of empowerment and frameworks for change. Maria has taken on a role as Educator with the DEN to enable her to concentrate on community based grass-roots education. She is excited to be working at the coal-face and engaging effectively in providing targeted and accessible drug education services to the Tasmanian community.

This training is funded by the Skills Fund and covers the skills and knowledge defined in the nationally recognised unit of competence CHCPROM503A:  Provide community focused promotion and prevention strategies.

 

Those registering will be required to complete the assessment for this unit in addition to attending the workshop.
