Neighbourhood Houses have a lot on offer to assist people recovering from substance use issues. Neighbourhood Houses can provide:
- social support and a sense of belonging
- activities to help rebuild confidence, including literacy programs and other training opportunities
- opportunities to volunteer and contribute
Neighbourhood Houses also offer a safe and welcoming place for workers to engage with their clients.
The ATDC and Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania invite AOD workers to attend a Neighbourhood House Tour so that you can gain a greater sense of the work that Neighbourhood Houses do and how this may be of benefit to your clients.
The tours are being held in the North on 28 November, North West on 29 November and in the South on 1 December. There is no cost, transport and lunch will be provided. Further information can be found here.
There are limited spaces on these bus tours so please register your interest quickly! Phone Jonathon at Neighbourhood House Tasmania on 6228 6515, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
This initiative is part of the Facilitating Collaboration with Neighbourhood Houses project.
