Community Services Industry Plan - Final draft completed and available for comment

The Industry Plan has been developed under the auspice of the Community Services Peaks Network by a representative Steering Group. The Industry Plan Steering Group (IPSG) held its final meeting on Monday 25th August to endorse the final draft of the Industry Plan. The final draft will be circulated statewide to community services for comment and endorsement from 1st - 30th September 2008.  You are encouraged to provide feedback. A copy of the final draft can be downloaded (see below) or from the TasCOSS website.

The Industry Plan will be launched in conjunction with the TasCOSS Fairer Futures 2008 Conference (Hobart 29th – 31st Oct, registrater atwww.tascoss.org.au).

DHHS Standards and Quality Management Model for the Community Sector in Tasmania report released April 2008.

This report, written by Quality Management Services, was commissioned by the Department of Health and Human Services. The report:

  • Examines current systems of standards and quality management operating in the non-government community sector in Australian jurisdictions and,

  • Makes recommendations for the introduction of a workable quality and safety standards model for adoption by the Tasmanian community sector.

The details for community sector consultations about the Standards and Quality Management Model report  are below :

  • Hobart on Tuesday, 24 June from 10–12pm – Glenorchy Civic Centre, Cooper Street, Glenorchy;

  • Burnie on Thursday, 26 June from 2–4pm – Family Based Care Association (North West) Inc, first floor Corner of Wilson and Wilmot Streets, Burnie (Wilmot Street entrance immediately beside Federal MP Sid Sidebottom’s offices);

  • Launceston on Friday, 27 June from 10–12pm – Family Based Care (North) Inc, 22 Earl Street, Launceston

 

National Minimum Data Set Guidelines now available

National Minimum Data Set (NMDS) guidelines are now available. The guidelines are a reference for all those involved in collecting and supplying data for the Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Services National Minimum Data Set (AODTS–NMDS). They should be useful to staff in Australian government, state and territory departments, and alcohol and other drug treatment agency staff directly involved in the collection and reporting of the data set.
