Pill Testing Australia in Hobart when NSW Coroner’s Report into Festival Deaths tabled

Pill Testing Australia co-founder and Harm Reduction Australia President Gino Vumbaca will be in Hobart on Friday, 8 November.

This is the same day that the New South Wales Coroner will officially table their Findings into Music Festival Deaths Report at 10am. The purported recommendations from this report were leaked in October and may include a recommendation to introduce drug checking at NSW festivals, alongside a range of other measures.

Pending the release of the recommendations of this report, Mr Vumbaca will be available to provide a response. He will be available between 1.30pm and 3.30pm on Friday, 8 November. ATDC chief executive Alison Lai will also be available for interview.

The Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs Council Tasmania (ATDC) has sought commitments from all political parties and independent candidates in the 2024 state election to prioritise policies to reduce alcohol and drug-related harm in Tasmania.

The Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs Council Tasmania (ATDC) has called for an immediate investment in prevention activities to reduce the harm from the uptake of vapes / e-cigarettes in the state.
