Dear Members,
The ATDC Annual General Meeting has been scheduled to be held on Thursday, 29 September 2022 (more information will be forthcoming regarding the time and location of this meeting).
This year, Elected Directors Penny Chugg (The Salvation Army) and Penny Egan (Cancer Council Tasmania) will be completing their second term on the ATDC Board. Penny Chugg has confirmed that she intends to re-stand for election for her third and final term. Penny Egan will not be re-standing.
Any member of the ATDC is eligible to also submit an expression of interest for these two Elected Director roles.
If you are interested, and have knowledge, skills or experience in any of the following areas I encourage you to get in contact with me (details below).
- Alcohol, tobacco and other drug treatment services and program delivery
- Financial management
- Government relations
The ATDC is committed to increasing the diversity of its Board of Governance and welcomes nominations from individuals who may identify as culturally or linguistically diverse or as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. We particularly welcome nominations from individuals living outside southern Tasmania (north and/or north-west Tasmania). If this sounds like you, and you also have a lived experience of alcohol, tobacco or other drugs use we encourage you to apply.
Not-for-profit governance experience is preferred and Elected Directors are appointed to two-year terms (maximum of three terms).
Each position is voluntary and there is no remuneration but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month, and generally last for two hours (and can be accessed remotely).
Want more information? I can be contacted on 0428 582 940 or via email at g.peterson@utas.edu.au. If you wish to be considered, please submit a summary of your background and experience (no more than two A4 pages) and a copy of your CV to admin@atdc.org.au by Friday, 24 June 2022.
ATDC Life Membership: Members are also invited to nominate individuals for life membership to the ATDC to recognise outstanding service over a considerable period of time to the Tasmanian alcohol, tobacco and other drugs sector. Nominations can be submitted through the ATDC website.
Regards,
