Dear Members,
This year the ATDC Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 18 September 2019 (more information will be forthcoming regarding the time and location of this meeting).
This year we will farewell long-term Board member Stephen Brown who will step down from the Board after many years of valued contribution to our organisation. We look forward to recognising and thanking Stephen formally at the AGM.
This year, we are seeking to elect two Elected Directors from the ATDC membership to the Board of Governance, who may have knowledge, skills or experiences in one or more of the following areas:
- Alcohol, tobacco and other drug primary prevention and early intervention services and programs
- Marketing and communications, preferably in a not-for-profit setting
- Government relations
- Consumer representation or alcohol, tobacco or other drugs lived experience
The ATDC is committed to increasing the diversity of its Board of Governance, and welcomes nominations from individuals who may identify as culturally or linguistically diverse or as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. We particularly welcome nominations from individuals living outside southern Tasmania (north and/or north-west Tasmania).
Not-for-profit governance experience is preferred but the ATDC Board is willing to consider individuals seeking to step up into a board director role for the first time.
Elected Directors are appointed to two-year terms, and each position is voluntary. There is no remuneration but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month, and generally last for two hours (and can be accessed remotely).
To be eligible to nominate, individuals need to be a current Individual Member or a representative of a current Organisational Member of the ATDC.
If you are interested, please contact me directly on 0409 285 340 or via email at michael.voumard@lifelinetasmania.org.au.
If you wish to nominate, please submit a summary of your background and experience (no more than two A4 pages) and a copy of your CV to admin@atdc.org.au by 5pm on Friday, 9 August 2019.
ATDC Life Membership: Members are also invited to nominate individuals for life membership to the ATDC. As per the ATDC Constitution, life membership is provided to individuals acknowledged by the Council to have rendered outstanding service to the ATDC and/or the alcohol, tobacco and other drug sector over a long period of time. Life members can only be granted by a General Meeting at the express recommendation of the ATDC Board of Governance. Download nomination form
