Youth, Family & Community Connections Inc. is a local Not-For-Profit Community Organisation that provides a range of health and wellbeing services to young people, families and communities throughout the North West Coast of Tasmania. We are seeking applications for the position of Youth Worker (casual), to work within our Health Promotions Team and youth programs (ARVOs and School Holiday programs).
This is a casual role with two weekly 4 hour shifts: Tuesdays 1 – 5pm in Devonport and Wednesdays 1-5pm in Burnie. As such applicants must have their own transport. The main responsibility of this role is to assist with organisation, promotion and delivery of the ARVOs and School Holiday youth engagement programs. These programs deliver to youth aged between 13 and 20 years from within the greater Burnie and Devonport regions.
The role involves –
- Information and support to young people and relevant others
- Referrals to YFCC and external services where relevant
- Maintaining a safe environment for participants
- Data collection and entry
- Health Promotion
- Working autonomously and as part of a team
The person we are looking for will be engaging, articulate and knowledgeable in the areas of Youth Services and Health and Wellbeing. They will have a minimum or be working towards completion of Community Services or Social Work qualification or equivalent.
To qualify for an interview, applicants must have a current Driver’s Licence, a National Police Check and a Working with Vulnerable People Registration and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical.
