Part-time 0.7 FTE | Fixed Term until June 30, 2027* | Hobart based | SCHADS Level 7 (salary packaging available) (*subject to funding)
The alcohol, tobacco and other drugs sector is changing rapidly, guided by a 10-year plan that aims to create a more integrated, seamless system providing diverse treatment and support services to those who wish to seek help for their drinking, smoking or use of other substances.
At the centre of this change is the voice of those with a lived experience of alcohol and other drug use. It is no exaggeration to say that the impact of this voice has had a transformational impact on driving reform in recent years.
As the peak body representing community organisations delivering alcohol, tobacco and other drug programs and services, the ATDC plays a key role in supporting this voice.
Since 2020, ATDC has coordinated and supported a group of 30 volunteers (also known as Lived Experience Advocates or ‘consumer reps’) who are paid honorariums for their time. These volunteers are valued and active across the sector and participate in many and varied activities.
Alongside this is the collective representative voice of lived experience that informs policy development in our sector through systemic advocacy.
We are on the hunt for a talented and motivated individual who can manage staff and volunteers while also coordinating policy submissions and representing the collective voice in committees. This role will also deliver the managerial and administrative component to support our Lived Experience Advocate Service. This role will work with ATDC staff, our Advocates, the community-sector and government stakeholders.
Are you someone who is deeply committed to driving change from the grassroots but also equally comfortable in developing professional relationships with a wide range of individuals across the government and community? Hopefully you are someone with an eye for detail who prides themselves on getting the policy architecture right so to ensure the advocate voice is supported.
This role requires someone who has a high level of personal and professional integrity, is compassionate and driven by a desire to impact community in positive ways. You will most likely operate from a trauma informed approach wand, have a strong set of values that inform your ways of working. This role would also suit someone who is a structured and organised thinker and is able to balance multiple competing priorities.
Are you ready to drive change and deliver something amazing?
